Kitchen Community. Much more than a kitchen.
The Dutch shopping center group CÓRIO was looking for an idea to dynamize its shopping centers through gastronomy and create an active and participative community around them. He hired Simply Fabulous as a culinary consultant and SF responded to this ambitious challenge by creating the comprehensive Kitchen Community concept. We proposed an open kitchen, a warm place, a refuge space… and a program of gastronomic activities for all ages, creating, over time, an active community around gastronomy.
Kitchen Community opened for the first time in the Sexta Avenida Shopping Center, with immediate success. Cooking parties, tastings, culinary workshops at all levels, master classes with local chefs, presentations of delicatessen products… participatory activities that attracted the public of the mall as well as private groups, schools and corporate groups.
The second Kitchen Community lit its stoves in the Espacio Torrelodones Shopping Center in 2014. New Kitchen Communities are planned to open in the centers managed by the CORIO group in the coming years.
